2017 will be another fantastic year. Performers will continue to be confirmed as we draw closer to night, but so far, we are happy to announce the following!

Damien Leith

Variety WA

Damien Leith is a singer/songwriter, a notable family man, Producer, Author, Playwright and TV host personality. He has released 8 studio albums, with his latest, ‘Songs from Ireland’. He tours extensively throughout Australia and headlines many folk/celtic festivals. Leith is a talented, grounded, charming man in demand. Originally from Co. Kildare in Ireland, Leith arrived in Australia in 2003 and captured the hearts of the nation when he entered Australian Idol, which he went on to win in 2006. Since then he has become one of Australia’s most respected and loved performers. With a cluster of hit singles (#1 ‘Night Of My Life’) and albums (Where We Land, Catch The Wind, Roy and Chapter Seven) behind him, as well as two published novels (One more time and Remember June), Leith is an artist always moving forward.

 Harrison Craig

Variety WA

Harrison Craig made his mark as The Voice of Australia Winner in 2013 and since that time has achieved two #1 Aria Albums (More Than A Dream) and a #5 ARIA Album (L.O.V.E), as well as his most recent release ‘Kings of Vegas’ reaching #1 on the Aria Charts . His first #1 Aria Album, “More Than a Dream” went Platinum and was the headline for sold out shows across the country. His second album “L.O.V.E.” remained in the Aria Top 10 album chart for six consecutive weeks. His most recent album the “Kings of Vegas” reached #1 on the Aria Charts and has spawned a HUGE national tour spanning 45 shows around Australia.

Yasmin Kassim

Variety WA

Yasmin Kassim was born on May 21 in Perth, Western Australia. Yasmin stars opposite Daniel Radcliffe in 'Jungle' directed by 'Wolf Creek' creator Greg McLean along with Joel Jackson and Alex Russell. Prior to this Yasmin played the popular character 'Shay Quill' on iconic Australian soap opera 'Neighbours.' Yasmin also worked with Kelsey Grammar in another US feature 'Guardians of the Tomb.' Yasmin worked on various Australian films including 'Love is Now', '54 Days' and 'Locks of Love' and 2 short films directed by 'The Sapphires' Wayne Blair, one of which, 'Lie' also starred Daniel Macpherson and was shortlisted as a Tropfest finalist. Prior to this Yasmin played 'Trixie' on SBS's award winning show 'Legally Brown.' Yasmin has studied at various institutions including the University of Western Australia, National Institute of Dramatic Art, Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York amongst many others. Yasmin was discovered when she was 6, when she was asked to be a performer in the Michael Jackson 'HIStory' tour. In Yasmin's free time she enjoys being a singer/songwriter, playing piano and practicing yoga.

 Suzie Mathers

After a year on the West End as Glinda in the 10th Anniversary cast of WICKED, Suzie is returning to Perth for the festive season. A proud graduate of WAAPA, Suzie’s theatre credits include ‘Cinderella’ in Cinderella (Cambridge Arts Theatre, UK), ‘Glinda’ in Wicked (Australian and Asian tours), ‘Sophie’ in Mamma Mia! The Musical (Australian tour) and more. Suzie has been awarded Young Australian Achiever of the Year.


Chris Murphy

Chris Murphy is one of Perth’s most prominent solo performers. Regular performances led to his inclusion on the “Kevin Bloody Wilson live in the UK & Ireland 2004” tour and the Australian nation-wide tour support for US country/rock band Creedence Clearwater Revisited in 2010. Chris has 4 Independent solo albums released – ‘Elbow Room’ 2005 / ‘Chris Murphy’ 2007 / ‘Look At This/Remember That – Tour Edition’ 2010 and ‘Ghost Town’ 2016.


Courtney Murphy

Courtney Murphy is far more than an Australian Idol overnight sensation. Courtney performs as the quintessential piano man, duo, trio and with the band he’s shared with his brothers since 1991, Murphy’s Lore. Boasting a CV that puts famous acts to shame and one of the finest voices in the live and recording scenes, Courtney has worked with Australian music royalty such as John Farnham, Marcia Hines and Glen Shorrock.


Mia Simonette

Mia Simonette is returning for her 4th Carols, having sung alongside Dami Im, Anthony Callea and Lucy Durack. At only 19, Mia has a voice far beyond her years. Currently studying a bachelor of Jazz at WAAPA, Mia was lucky enough to study and perform in New York City earlier this year. Mia regularly performs at live music venues around Perth and events such as the Perth International Jazz Festival.


Jamie Topham

Jaimie Topham is 14 years old and a Variety Heart Scholarship recipient. As a member of the Variety Youth Choir for the past five years, Jaimie performs at various corporate and community events around Perth. Despite living with Muscular Dystrophy, Jaimie loves singing because it allows her to express her feelings and show people that having a disability does not have to limit your dreams.



Paula Parore and Clay Darius formed AViiDA in 2014 and haven’t looked back. Both accomplished soul, R&B and blues singers in their own right, coming together has taken them on a journey that has given their individual and collective vocal styles a new energy. A powerhouse duo. With local, national and international performing credits to their name, both on the theatrical and musical stage. Loved on The Voice 2015.

 Robbie Anderson

Robbie’s bubbly personality stole the hearts of the Australian people on The Voice – Kids and sparked a massive social media following. Robbie has co-hosted The Voice - Kids Finals, and The Voice – Adults and toured nationally with the Voice Kids. Robbie has performed at the Channel Nine, Carols by Candlelight in Melbourne and Perth. Released his debut single ‘Hi’ in 2017.

 Chelsea Basham

Golden Guitar winner Chelsea Basham is the current CMC Female Artist of the Year on which channel she’s reached the #1 position with 5 singles across her two albums. I Make My Own Sunshine and Youngest. Currently Chelsea is working on an exciting new project with drummer/ guitarist/ husband Kingsley Oldmeadow which they are writing new material for their band Kings Drifter, watch this space.


 Georgia Caceres

Star of Channel Nine’s ‘The Block’. Georgia and her dynamic husband have gone on to sign an exclusive deal with Channel Nine, but before she was a renovating machine, Georgia graduated from the world renowned WAAPA with a Certificate in Musical Theatre. Georgia has since enjoyed performing in many community and corporate musical events in WA, but tonight marks her first time singing at Carols By Candlelight.


 Jerrie Demasi

An award winning journalist and celebrated local musician. As a Channel 9 News reporter and presenter she has accumulated several industry accolades, including a coveted WA Media Award. The WAAPA Musical Theatre student has more than two decades of experience in entertaining at events across the country. Jerrie also fronts popular Perth band Felix, performing regularly at venues across the state.


 Holly Denton

Holly is a bubbly artist with a contagious energy. Holly began song writing at just 15 and has an impressive performance history. She continues to gig weekly around Perth with the Variety Youth Choir and family duo, D’Vision 2. Holly took to community theatre in 2016 and has recently been cast as the leading female in Ben Elton’s “We Will Rock You” at His Majesty’s Theatre in March 2018.


 Chelsea J Gibson

Most recently seen on Channel 9’s The Voice, and picked up by Boy George as a backing vocalist and to play harmonica with him and Culture Club. They have just recently performed at The Perth Arena. Chelsea J is also known as an Australian Idol finalist, an Australasian singing champion, and one of Perth’s top international entertainers and songwriters.


 Mel Griffiths

Mel is a professional singer and entertainer with 15+ years’ experience in the entertainment industry. Melanie has worked in various bands, corporate events, TV & Radio, choreographed and performed in dance troupes, worked as a recording vocalist in NSW and performed as lead singer internationally. Returning to Perth in 2012, Melanie became Director of ‘Bop till you Drop – WA’ and ‘Danceletics’.


 Nicole Kaminski

Proudly West Australian, Nicole now resides in Melbourne. She moved to Victoria to study performing arts, graduating from the Federation University Arts Academy in 2015. Past performances include Nicole playing Eponine (Le Miserable) Millie Dillmount (thoroughly Modern Millie) & Heather Chandler (Heathers the musical). Nicole is currently rehearsing the character of Belle (Beauty & the Beast) for a 2018 production.




Michael Thomson

Michael is Nine News Perth's Sports Reporter. He has worked as a journalist, commentator & presenter in Perth for 37 years. His highlight, is commentating at the Atlanta and London Olympics. Michael started work at Nine as a crime reporter and later took on the job of sports reporter and presenter. A keen fisherman and swimmer, Michael presented the popular lifestyle program “Just Add Water”.


Louise Momber

Louise Momber is a presenter and producer with Nine News, Perth. She has been part of the news team for 9 years - starting out as a senior reporter. Louise has grown up in Perth and loves being involved in community events like tonight’s IGA Carols by Candlelight for Variety, WASO Symphony in the City and various fundraising events which she’s very passionate about. Louise is also a proud Mum to Ivy and new baby Margot. This is Louise’s 10th consecutive time hosting Carols by Candlelight - her favourite event of the year.
